All programs are designed in a way that allows children’s ideas, interests, and knowledge to be explored, as well as offering teacher-initiated learning and activities that introduce new ideas and challenge children in a safe, stimulating and well-equipped environment.
Our programs are delivered by qualified and experienced educators who have a passion for children’s care and education. The program is also offered to a maximum of 20 children per group, which allows for greater individual attention from educators.
We also offer a range of sessional care options from 10-hour days to 9-hour days, but conditions do apply. To see if these options are suitable for you, please contact our service directly.
Here at Cuddle Bugs Kindergarten & Pre-Prep, we implement a play-based learning approach when planning experiences for the children. We believe that children who engage in quality play experiences are more likely to have well-developed memory skills and language development and are able to regulate their behaviour, leading to enhanced school adjustment and academic learning. Educators are trained in ways to enhance learning through play, such as scaffolding, role modelling and asking specific questions to engage wonder and learning.

Here at Cuddle Bugs Kindergarten & Pre-Prep, we promote sun safety. All children and educators are to wear a sun smart hat and sunscreen when they go outside to play. We also minimise time spent outside during the harsh midday sun. Our outdoor environment has ample shade, and great care is taken when setting up activities to ensure children can be protected from the sun. We also have a range of sun-safe merchandise available from the administration, including Cuddle Bugs hats and sleeved shirts. More information on sun safety can be found within our sun safety policy.
Group times at Cuddle Bugs are interactive and exciting. The children have the opportunity to participate in experiences such as music, dance, drama, science experiments, games and stories, and fine and gross motor activities. Group times are also a great way to follow up on the children’s interests and take advantage of intentional teaching.
Here at Cuddle Bugs Kindergarten & Pre-Prep, we promote inclusion by exploring our local Aboriginal people here in Bundaberg and looking at how other cultures celebrate their traditions. We introduce children to a multicultural environment and teach about people’s similarities and differences in fun and educational ways.
Both the Grasshopper and Bumble Bee groups have an interactive whiteboard installed in the room. The children are able to sign in, participate in educational games, look at images from the day or relating to interests and much more. All children also have the opportunity to use iPads and digital cameras for educational purposes within their room and outdoor environment.
At Cuddle Bugs Kindergarten & Pre-Prep, we expose the children to literacy and numeracy through play-based experiences, group times and various opportunities throughout the day. We explore letters and numbers in meaningful ways to keep children engaged.
